Gradual Incline GPA? Someone Explain!

I was wondering what this gradual incline business was about. I understand that it’s something along the lines of having a low gpa, and as the years progress, your grades progress as well. But people tell me it helps to get into college if you don’t have a consistently high gpa. It seems as though they are telling me that it is another route to look good towards applying to colleges. So I’ve got a couple questions, to what extent does this incline have to be or look like? 2.5 freshmen year, 3.0 sophomore year, 3.7 junior year? is that what they’re looking for? Also wouldn’t students who succeeded throughout their high school career, with a consistent 4.0 GPA since freshmen year have an advantage compared to the kids with the gradual incline?

There just has to be improvement, that’s all. Doesnt matter whether you go from 3.7 to 4.0 or from 2.5 to 3.4 throughout your 4 years. You just need to show improvement and intellectual maturity.

Alright, I just assumed that depending on the margin of the improvement, then they would be more impressed. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

They would be more impressed, yes. But if you maintain a high GPA all 4 years, that certainly looks better than gradually improving up to that GPA.
