Graduate Film School: NYU or UCLA?

So, I´m currently studying at this renowned college in Guadalajara, Mexico, called ITESO. Guillermo Del Toro once studied here and I´ll be the first generation of “film”, I´ll be graduating in 1 year and a half. I have good grades and have a good portfolio.

This might sound very stupid and out of subject, but my boyfriend lives in the US, he´s currently living in the Bay Area, he wants to be an actor, so he´ll move to LA soon, to go to Second City, chances are, he´ll stay there for 3 years, I believe so.

I HATE Los Angeles. Not only the plasticity of the city, there´s no appeal to me, there´s just nothing I can relate to, and i live somewhere where I currently hate, not for the city, but the people and politics, I don´t know if i wanna do it again. Most Mexicans end up there and I don´t wanna be the stereotype, but one of my mom´s friends can get me a scholarship at UCLA Graduate School + a job at this cultural place. NYU Graduate is cheap for what it is, and I´d get a scholarship, probably. Since I was a little girl I´ve always wanted to live in New York, it´s my dream. But I´m kinda starting to realize I´d have to live in a place I HATE just for the opportunities.

If I decide NY, my boyfriend would probably finish studying in LA and I´d visit him (papers situations and if I don´t study there I can´t have a student VISA) and we´d move to NY later. If I decide LA, I´d be miserable for living somewhere not relatable, somewhere where I´d HAVE to get a car and at the end, spend more money, BUT maybe more opportunities?

I´m just super nervous about the future, and I need to know which one is THE best graduate film school. And, is it worth it living somewhere you don´t like for these “opportunities” or should i just go for the place I like the most? Which one really GETS you a job in film?

Sorry if this seems like a cry for help. It is, I need outside views. I also don´t wanna hurt my relationship, we´re getting married someday. ADULTHOOD IS SO STRESSFUL.
