Graduate Program in Irish Studies or English program with Irish Lit Concentration?

As the title says.

Does anybody know some programs that offer this? I have found a few, well 2… And would like to cast a wider net. I am interested in either or as my focus.

So either a PhD in Irish / Irish American Studies or and English Lit Program with concentration in Irish / Irish American Lit.

Here are links to programs:
[IASIL - the International Association for the Study of Irish Literatures](http://www.iasil.org/links/centres.html)

You really should consider going to a program in Ireland; failing that, Notre Dame, Berkeley, Harvard, Boston College and the others linked above.

Have you looked into Trinity College in Dublin?

(Yes, Dublin as in Ireland). Might as well venture over to the best school in Ireland if you want to study the Irish.

Most of the programs in the link posted are not for the study of literature. Emory’s English program has Ronald Schuchard and Geraldine Higgins, both of whom are leaders in the study of Irish poetry. Emory also has one of the largest collections of Irish poetry in the world.
About the archives:
"… in addition to expanding the Yeats holdings, the Library has assembled papers relating to many of Ireland’s finest contemporary poets, including, Ciaran Carson, Peter Fallon, Thomas Kinsella, Michael Longley, Derek Mahon, Paul Muldoon, Medbh McGuckian, Frank Ormsby (long-time editor of The Honest Ulsterman ), Tom Paulin and James Simmons. In 2003, Emory acquired a significant portion of Nobel Prize winning poet Seamus Heaney’s archives.

The Seamus Heaney archive is the largest and most complete research collection anywhere for the study of the life and work of Seamus Heaney. A number of related collections also housed in MARBL further document Heaney’s literary career and his friendship with other writers of his generation. As well as holding Heaney’s correspondence with many of the Irish writers in his circle, the library’s Ted Hughes Collection documents one of the most important poetic correspondences of the twentieth century.

The library also holds the publisher’s archive of the Gallery Press, which includes correspondence and manuscript materials related to a broad array of contemporary Irish poets and playwrights. In addition, the library holds the literary archive of the Irish novelist Edna O’Brien.

…

Recent readings of archived poets have included Paul Muldoon, Seamus Heaney, Michael Longley and Medbh McGuckian, events that often draw hundreds from the Atlanta community as well."

Thanks for the link and information, and amadani thanks for that as well. I hadn’t seen Emory before but have seen a few of the others, and yes I am not sure if they are all exactly what I am looking for but it is a good start for sure!
I had strongly considered the BC and NYU programs and I have looked into TCD as well.
Florida State University has a “concentration” in it but it looks to be only 3 classes which is weak.
