I finished my undergraduate degree in humanities three years ago and I am wanting to apply to graduate school for my Master of Arts. I am concerned about my graduate school admission chances due to the fact that it took me 12 years to earn my Bachelor degree. I had other responsibilities for those 12 years and I was unable to attend school full time. However, I did graduate with a high GPA of 3.8 Any thoughts on how graduate schools will judge my not completing my undergrad in the traditional four years? Thanks for any feedback!
They won’t care. Most grad schools aren’t as hard to get into as you think they are. It depends on the school & the subject, but these days your average school will be thrilled to have an applicant for an MA in a humanities field with a 3.8.
you’d be surprised that many grad schools absolutely love non-traditional students for their life experiences and overcoming adversity.
Good luck.
