graduate school for economics majors

let’s be real, i’m not going to grad school in econ, because that is insanely competitive and 300 level math classes scare me. so, what are some proto-economic options available for people that don’t want to enter the lion’s den?

i was initially thinking along the lines of geography, urban planning, or demography - but lately i’ve realized i’m more interested in finance. i understand these interests are very cursory, so if anybody’s got suggestions on books to read that could help me out, that would be most helpful.
