Graduate School in Engineering

I finished my undergraduate degree in engineering in 2008. I was supposed to go graduate school in Fall 2008 (not at Stanford), but I deferred. I reapplied last year, but I ended up taking a job as an industry engineer on the West Coast (near Stanford) instead of attending.

I plan to work for this year, but after that, I’m contemplating returning to get my Master’s and/or PhD here on the West Coast (previously had applied to East Coast schools). Stanford is one of my top choices, so I have a few important questions.

Is the school known to be undergraduate or graduate focused? What is the general social atmosphere of the campus and what kind of social activities dominate the social landscape? Is there a good deal of interaction between Stanford and the industries close to it? What is the interaction like between graduates and undergraduates? Is there ample funding for graduate students?

Thanks. Looking forward to possibly being a Cardinal someday (it’s a Cardinal right?).
