Graduate School Is Hard Enough...

This is a petition to the White House to reinstate tax exemption for graduate students, something we could all use. Spread the word! Should we not be rewarded for seeking higher education above all else? Putting ourselves in debt, working our way up… all while improving the country in magnificent and diverse ways.

Just a thought.

Thank You!

You want to reduce tax revenue when we have a $1 trillion deficit?

Uh, I got everything I paid back on my tax return (guess I’m the 47%?). I know that’s not the same thing per se, but the government does recognize all of what you just said.

“You want to reduce tax revenue when we have a $1 trillion deficit?”

It can be balanced out by taxing the rich more. Makes sense…

Um, no? Education is its own reward.

That’s quite easy to say when you’re not rich.

So whats your point? Trying to make me feel bad that the RICH are going to get taxed more? In case you didnt notice, notice the part where they are RICH.

I wish I was rich -.-

Taxing of stipends isn’t necessarily an across-the-board problem but I will say it is difficult to live on for some… especially those trying to pay back loans from Undergrad and living in one of the most expensive cities in the world. Hard to save anything, much less live on. It would be nice to not have to worry about taxes on top of getting my PhD.
