Hello,
I graduated high school in 2015. When I graduated high school, I also earned my AA degree in History. Over the summer I earned another AS in sociology. During this time I was still a minor, and allowed my parents to direct my life, so my education was decided mostly by them. In August 2016, I earned a BS in social science, but by that point I wanted to change major to mathematics and apply to Harvard and other Ivy League schools. However, they do not accept second degree students and I have to apply for graduate school. Despite being “ahead” by most standards, I do not think my background is competitive enough for graduate admissions at the top schools, considering I am facing off against people far older with more experience, internships/research contributions, and degrees in mathematics.
So, to accomplish my goal/dream of attending Harvard, where should I go from here? I have struggled trying to plot out a course of action, which does not help my case against my overbearing parents, who now want me to attend Liberty University for graduate school. Knowing the history and perception of that school, I do not want to be associated with it for the rest of my life.
I am in desperate need of assistance.
Thank you
