Graduate School ROTC

Does anyone know any good Graduate school majors that work well in ROTC programs in New York?

I’m pretty sure you can participate in non-scholarship ROTC with any major in graduate school. But this is a pretty broad question, and I’m not positive it’s the right way to go about it.

First of all, are you referring to New York the city or New York the state? There are quite a few ROTC programs in New York City and even more across the state. Which branch do you want to be in? Remember also that many programs have cross-town agreements - for example, the Air Force ROTC detachment at Manhattan College accepts cross-town students from 31 different colleges in the greater NYC area (including some on Long Island, which would be a long trek - Manhattan College is in the Bronx). Fordham’s Army ROTC detachment likewise accepts students from about 30 different colleges. You can probably join an ROTC detachment from just about any college in New York.

Secondly, you shouldn’t pick a graduate program based upon whether you can participate in ROTC. It’s different if your question is “What programs are best for entering the military as an officer,” because that’s with an eye towards a specific career (and in that case, I would say talk to an officer recruiter). But if you just want to do ROTC programs? It’s best to pick a program first that suits your career, then find out where the best programs in that field are in the geographic area you’d like to be in, and then see if that place is connected with an ROTC program.
