Graduate Schools for Vocal Performance (Opera)

I am going to be applying to graduate schools next year, and I have no idea
where to begin in researching them.

Is my vocal type a particularly important thing to consider when applying?

College Conservatory of Music (@ the University of Cincinnati) has a very good graduate program for Opera, also the Jacobs School of Music is a usual suspect for grad work and half of the school is grad students. very large opera program with 6 full scale productions each year

The common wisdom is to start with your teachers, departmental faculty, peers, associates and your musical network as they are the ones that best know your strengths and weaknesses.

Choose your graduate program first based on teacher, second on merit aid. Look at who a teacher’s students are and what they are doing professionally, what comps have they won, what YAPs they’re getting into.
