Graduating high school a semester early: will it screw me up?

Going through my graduation requirements, I found I can obtain my diploma, with plenty of credits to spare, after the first semester of my senior year (I’m currently a second-semester junior). I want to get out of school ASAP and do something exciting before college. If I get accepted early-decision, and I then graduate early, will it screw anything up for me?

Some additional and possibly useful information:

  • Haven’t taken the SAT or ACT yet, but my PSAT is 1510
  • Did very well at ISEF last year
  • Have lots of concurrent enrollment credit at the local university
  • IB diploma candidate (though I would have to quit if I went through with my plan)
  • Planning on going to U of Toronto

It shouldn’t be but since you seem to have one school targeted you may want to contact your rep (after this year’s admissions cycle is complete) and discuss.

University of Toronto doesn’t have early decision … or early action.

It can change some deadlines. I assume you don’t live in Florida, but for example if you did you’d have to apply for bright futures before you graduated in december. Just an example. Make sure of all your dates and deadlines.
