What do you put if you don’t know? I mean, nobody knows this far in advance. They want month/day/year…should I just guess and put a random date? Say…5/21/10? The colleges won’t penalize me if it’s the wrong date, will they?

Try searching online for the exact date. Most school districts actually do determine at least a tentative date before the school year starts.

If you can’t find it, then it’s ok to give an estimate. Colleges don’t typically need to know the exact date.

Thanks.

I had been searching online, but I couldn’t find it anywhere.

also snow days push it back sometimes… so I had the same dilemma

leave it blank for now and ask someone in your school (counselor, etc.) when you get back to school

I’m sure your school board or board of trustees has long ago established the school calendar, including the date of graduation. Just check the web site or call the office for the information. If it ends up being pushed back at the end (which you certainly won’t know when you’re applying) due to snow days, hurricane days or whatever, the college isn’t going to hold it against you and think you were dishonest. Don’t sweat it.

If school does not yet have actual day for graduation ceremony, it should at least have a schedule that shows last day of class and you can use that.

Shouldn’t it just line up with the date from last year? I could have told you my graduation date the first day I entered my HS in 7th grade. I think estimating from that would be fine. Or just ask an administrator at your school. If anyone would know, it would be one of those guys.

Usually the date is already up by now - school systems usually plan out the whole year’s calendar. And as Millancad said, it’s usually the same time every year (like the 2nd Thursday in June for instance).

Besides, if you’re a few days off it won’t really matter.

Ask your counselor.
