But, I still need to take Japanese 4 to fulfill the graduation requirement for PEIS major.

Should I take this course at CC?

My counselor said that I don’t have to take it at CC since it’s just a

requirement for graduation. But, I’m afraid ,as you know, CAL is the most competitive school among UCs,

Whooo,

well, I have a lot of units so far and I know that UC does not care about the units that much, but private schools have the limitation. Having too many units may not look good on my application.

I would complete the language requirement at your CC. You’ll free up units that can be taken for other courses of interest once you get to Cal. The PEIS major requirements leave little room for electives (although the concentration courses are all chosen by you and can be taken at any of the colleges at Cal).

Also, language classes here meet daily, and they present scheduling conflicts that can be avoided if you complete it ahead of time. Remember that the language course must be completed for a letter grade, and that the courses here are probably tougher than at your CC, if you are concerned about GPA.
