<p>Can someone help me with this sentence??</p>

<p>“I have no shortage of memories that illustrate my curiosity and passion for learning about the world around me. My favorite one is of my sister and me sitting on the couch in front of the TV and squirming with excitement as our favorite Animal Planet show, The Most Extreme, came on.”</p>

<p>Should it be “came on” or “comes on”.</p>

<p>I know it’s a memory so it’s technically in the past, but for some reason I can’t shake the feeling that it should be “comes on”.</p>

<p>There is such a thing as the “narrative present tense,” but it’s safer to stick with “came on” in this instance.</p>
