What a speech by Chappell Roan
Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga sound amazing.
I love all the tick toks of kindergartners singing this song when their teachers play it.
Shakira’s kids are gorgeous
Janelle Monae made me smile with that hot performance - MJ didn’t leave things well but I adored him earlier in his career.
And for me, Chris Martin will always be a top few perennial performer.
We really enjoyed watching all of the artists nominated for best new artist - they were all so good, and the musical styles were so varied. And Janelle Monae was fun to watch!
Not me googling “How old is Shakira!?!”
She is amazing.
'Bout time!
Benson Boone. I loved his performance at the Grammy’s. His flips were wild!
As did I. Yet another example of an American Idol contestant who succeeded without winning the show
I don’t remember him on AI at all.
I will admit I was not happy with Beyoncé’s win. Billie Elish deserved that award hands down. Beyoncé’s album just wasn’t all that. And I think having to listen to Jay Z cry about her not winning for years tarnished it IMO.
Agree to disagree. But I have learned on cc how may people don’t care for country music so I think that sentiment likely is shared by many on here.
He was on season 19, the year Chayce Beckham won. He made it to the Top 24, but quit.
Here’s his audition
I’m actually a big country fan, and I agree that Cowboy Carter was neither the best album of 2024 nor Bey’s best album.
But I understand the win as being long overdue. It’s hardly the first example of an artist receiving an award as recompense for not having won in an earlier year for a more deserving effort. And really, Taylor dodged a bullet by losing.
Thanks for saving me the trouble of finding that myself although I am still in a bit of a BB rabbit hole. Had no idea that he was 22 and Mormon. Interesting kid.
Agree with all of that.
Who do you think should have won this year?
I had no idea he was on AI - great story. Why did he quit?
