Just watched the 60 minutes (really 30) special on Grammy nominees. Now watching the Red Capet live while awaiting the Grammys to start so starting this thread for all things Grammy.
They’re talking to James Corden’s parents who are celebrating their anniversary tonight as well. Love them, love James Corden. I predict he’ll be a great host.
I’m was watching the red carpet while doing some work. It seemed that many of the exchanges of the interviewers with the attendees was really awkward!!!
I have been watching Pentatonix ever since they were on The Sing Off in 2011. We are from the same home town- they are just a little older than D2. I see them whenever they come to Dallas. They won their 3rd Grammy tonight (3 for 3), so I’m now happy. Look forward to all the big awards and performances tonight.
According to some FB fans I seem to be in the minority…but I’m enjoying the music so much - great variety! You cannot say it’s all one thing or another!
I APPRECIATE all these genres, views and art of these artists!
I thought it was really good. I liked all the visuals. How about you, @Nrdsb4? (I do admit to being distracted, though, as I was on a conference call at the same time. )
My DH says (about Ed Sheeran) “Is that the guy you’re obsessed with?” Me: “What…what do you mean?”
DH: “Well, all those nights I said ‘goodnight honey’ and you said “okay, coming right up” but you didn’t and you were watching that red headed guy on YouTube.”
Gulp. Guilty.
Also: Maren Morris is also from my hometown, born just a month before my D1. There seems to be a lot of talented artists from Arlington, TX. It’s uncanny, given that my town isn’t really large or known prior for producing great talent. Go figure.
Beyonce’s performance is a story. You have to look at it as more than music - so more than the song. I think you also need to have watched or had a good understanding of Lemonade. It’s being called a tribute to Motherhood.
Also, her crown looked a little like the Statue of Liberty. Motherhood. Maybe a message? Maybe. Maybe not.
@doschicos, a few years ago I saw Ed Sheeran on the Grammys singing “Thinking Out Loud” and I was “WHO is that GUY?!” I LOVE that song. I was hooked after that.
It’s nothing about his hair or anything, I just think he is so talented.
