Grammys, anyone?

Oh, definitely. <------- abasket

A great show so far… Love anything my 18 year old will sit and watch with us for 2 hours. ;)

Best new artist is a tough category.

I was surprised but pleased Gotye won.

Yeah, I like that song. Much controversy on my FB. Such differing opinions.

Awww what a nice thing to say to Prince by Gotye.

Nice collaboration on this song.

Alabama Shakes should have won best new artist as well as best rock performance. Brittney Howard is going to be around a long time. That woman can sing. And she is amazing in concert. S2 saw Alabama Shakes about 2 years ago in a club with about 8 people in the room – now they are grammy nominees.

Love the Band song too - that’s my kind of music (yes part of me is stuck in the 60’s)

I am totally out of touch. I saw the first 5 min and the last 5 min. I like Taylor Swift’s songs and I don’t know Mumford and Sons, but they looked so proud to be included in the finale with Elton John that I like them now :-).

Some scary looking folks in that audience tho…yikes!

Howard is great. I would have liked everyone in the best new artist category to win. Lots of good music this year.

I’ve been turning it on when people I cared about appeared (meaning Mumford and Sons and Justin Timberlake.)

I was so happy to see the Mumford boys pick up Album of the Year. I’ve been listening to them since 2009 and I am so happy to see them doing well.

I admit I love Taylor Swift. She seems authentic to teenage girls (even though I know she’s probably all produced and packaged and I’m a sucker).

I thought her opening act was fun…although I didn’t quite get the “never getting back together” and Alice in Wonderland connection.

Elton John has lost his voice sadly. Maybe he’s just sick.

I saw him in concert last year, and he was amazing. I think he was trying to out Sheeran Ed Sheeran.

Finally, we Westcoasters, can watch! Fun’s live performance was horrible!

Agreed. Fun was totally pitchy as they say on AI. Had no idea who Ed Sheeran was. Always excited to discover new music.

Glad to hear Elton’s still got it.

J-Lo is hot, but her dress was not flattering. That pose didn’t work for Angelina last year either.

I think it does not bode well for an award show that honors music to open with someone who cannot sing but that ship has sailed. I enjoyed the closing number much more. The best thing I saw all night was what they did with Carrie Underwood’s dress. There was a huge missed opportunity with the Bob Marley tribute. Always enjoy seeing Jack White.

Not feeling the love for Mumford and Sons. We just watched them and we just…don’t…get it. They stink, out of tune, yuck. Great banjo playing, but nothing that you couldn’t see at any local festival. Playing the only decent song they have. So what’s the attraction?

Agree, Fun’s live performance was not so hot. A lot of missed notes.

What is with all the people playing instruments and singing on this show? I thought that music was supposed to be autotune and lipsyncing dance numbers? :)

Lots of pretty good stuff on the show. My favs were Jack White (with both his bands) and Brittney Howard’s verse of The Weight. She is awesome.
