Definitely not lipsyncing, they would sound better, I think. But Rihanna, Alicia Keyes and the guy from Maroon 5 sound great.

Love Mumford and Sons, dont like Taylor Swift and I can’t stomach Justin Timberlake. Can’t warm up to him after the Super Bowl Janet Jackson disaster.

Agreed, busdriver. Those were the good performances so far. JT was good, although I’m not a huge fan.

The Lumineers are killing their most popular song. If this is “the best live band”, I dunno…

Yeah, not crazy about the Lumineers either. Yikes. Don’t think that Frank Ocean sounds good either. I love JT in SNL, but not so much as a singer.

Now Kelly Clarkson sounded AMAZING, and so did Carrie Underwood. Love what they did with changing her dress! Oh yeah, no more wardrobe changes.

Just waiting for the Album of the Year, who will it be?

Gag, Mumford and Sons. Really? Yuck, yuck, yuck!

I liked Taylor Swift’s earlier songs but “never, never, never getting back together” is not of the same quality, IMO. It sounds like screeching to me.

I’ve enjoyed Maroon 5, especially Adam Levine, for a long time.

I like Mumford & Sons, but I understand they don’t appeal to everybody.

One of my key thoughts was “Would we have ever heard Kelly Clarkston or Carrie Underwood if not for American Idol?” Love them both!

mrscollege- Taylor Swift is the real deal. She is extremely nice and does a lot for the community. Her family is wonderful and she takes seriously the fact that many young girls look up to her. She IS getting older, and her clothes are going to reflect that. She is extremely talented at song writing and has been acknowledged for that by many of the greats in country music. She is a valued member of our community and a lovely young woman.

I’ve enjoyed fun since my daughter’s class produced a video using “Some Nights”.

I can’t stand listening to Taylor, since I knew her when she was a child. Her early interviews when she spoke about her childhood growing up having to do chores on the farm were pretty amusing to those of us who have been in the upscale suburban house where she really lived (at 9 she had an entire floor to herself for her pinball machines, crafts, dressing area, study, etc). She was in a music theatre group with my daughter, and the rule was that you could not have the lead role two productions in a row… so Taylor only performed in every other production - no supporting roles for her! She did have a sweet voice back then - we have video tapes of her performing in Sound of Music and Bye Bye Birdie.

But she does still support charities in the area from time to time, so I will give her credit for that.

Seems like jazz gets dissed a little more every year on the Grammy’s. Only in America…

Didn’t watch. I’ve probably only watched a couple of times in my lifetime.
