<p>Hi i’m a student from MD, and i have a 3.94 unweighted GPA and a 4.5 something out of 5 (weighted GPA) with 2000 SATs. First off is this competitive for a merit scholarship at UMD or UMBC?</p>
<p>Second, i have heard that UMD (or maybe all schools i dont know) offer some grants based upon what your major is. Could i get more information on this? </p>

<p>I don’t know about grants. But I know there’s major/minor/interest based scholarships.</p>
<p>I have a music scholarship and last year I was listed as minor based and took 4 music class and this year I’m listed as interest based because I don’t want anything to do with real music class anymore. I just need to take a private lesson class and a ensemble class(band) for interest based scholarship. Taking two fun ‘class’ for a scholarship is worth it in my book.</p>
<p>It also depends on the university which major have scholarships. What’s your major?</p>
