Graphic Design in Midwest/East

While i know most rankings in the art world aren’t much of a help, im just looking to create a list of some of the better colleges for graphic design in the midwest and east. Any thoughts?

will someone please help this chick out

I’m not an expert, but my D was looking for the same in the east and asked people in the field, some of which teach and have several books published. Schools recommended to me were RISD, MICA, Mass Art, SVA, Pratt, Syracuse and Towson (this has an up and coming program with lots of potential).

Other schools I’ve seen mentioned for graphic design are Rhode Island School of Design, Carnegie Mellon, Virginia Commonwealth, North Carolina State, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, and Washington University in Saint Louis.

I just wanted to add Univ of Cincinnati to that list. I didn’t realize they were ranked highly in graphic design, but just saw on US News website that their graduate program is ranked 11th.

Interesting article on how colleges play the Rankings Game…

University of Cincinnati is a particularly good choice for design because of their strong coop program in design. This not only gives 1.5 years of PAID exp but also provides a much stronger resume upon graduation.

RainingAgain-I couln’t get in to read the article. Could you post the article? thanks
