Graduate admissions look for more than GRE/TOEFL scores. They look at your performance in your undergraduate coursework, research experience, and work experience. You need a strong application all around, so posting only scores isn’t enough to determine your chances of getting in.

GRE is not really important. I got admission from Stanford with a GRE score of 1020 (quan: 650, verbal:370)… I thought I would never get the admission with this score, but it seemed that they looked at other things such as research experience and publications.

Which course had u applied for? I am gonna do MS … I have some good research experience:
- My research project consisted of only 2 (including me) students
- It was one of only 2 projects fully funded by a special board of professors.
- I also have about 9 months job experience.
- My under-grad academics are also good (i suppose). ( dont know how to calculate GPA but it must be around 3.5 to 3.6 on a scale of 4)
- I have been active in sports n stuff … toured england as a part of a sports team …

GOD! i hope all these are sufficient to get me in!

My admission is for a PhD in geophysics (I don’t have M.Sc. though). As an undergraduate student, I worked as a research assistant for about two years and published a total of five papers which were presented in international conferences along with some other activities…

Woo … im waitlisted for admission (as of 20 Jan). Actually there is nothing to woo about. Although it shows that i’m admission quality material, there is no guarantee of the same. … AARgh!&@!
