I took the revised GRE on Nov 3rd and ETS says scores will be available to view online on Dec 1st.

How does the score by phone thing work? Could I know my score earlier than Dec 1st by calling and paying the $12 fee?

You probably won’t get your scores earlier by phone - ETS is still in the transition phase where revised GRE scores are released on a delayed schedule (to establish percentiles) rather than as soon as the test is scored.

That being said, if you are really anxious to get your scores ASAP, it wouldn’t hurt to call earlier. You won’t have to pay for the phone call if your scores are not yet available.

Often when they give a date for phone calls, it is right before they actually send them out. Dont give them any more money. (My son got his subject test score in the mail yesterday, just a few days after they were available by phone, and several days before they said they would come in the mail.)
