I have a 162V 157Q GPA 3.8 from a state school. 2 years of research, 1 publication, many posters including one at a national meeting. Excellent LORs.

I’m worried about the 157Q. Is it worth resitting to get it higher for top ten schools including Harvard, MIT, etc. for Biosciences focused on molecular bio ?

I recommend that you take a look at the Results tab on thegradcafe.com.

My son is BME which is different, but he was told to get into a top 10 rated Ph.D. program in BME he would need 95% and above in quant. It may be different for Molecular Bio though. Not sure what 157 equates to percentage-wise.

Keep in mind that GRE’s are only part of the whole package that admissions considers.
