Great advice for College Student Recommendations

I ran across this and thought it might prove helpful for others. This link provides advice on how to secure a good recommendation for internships, grad school, etc. May be helpful for those from large high schools as well.

Thanks for posting the link! It will be helpful to a lot of our kids.

I also want to thank you for posting that link. While I can give advice for securing good recommendations in HS for college, this information is very well suited to getting recs in college for grad school. While it seems like my oldest child just started college, she is entering junior year and before I know it, thoughts about grad school admissions will come up in another year. She is definitely going to go to one and so I have printed out a copy of that site which is well written by a professor at UChicago. Thanks again.

There is a link at the bottom of the page that talks about how to approach writing a thesis as well.

Thank you, iDad. The thesis link is excellent and will come in handy for our college student as he approaches his senior thesis.

Page duly bookmarked. Thanks for taking the time to share it.

How appropriate having the thesis advise at the bottom of the page!

I’m actually currently finishing up my thesis (ugh…need a full copy to my advisor late today), and am going through the check list to see if there is anything that may be of benefit. I do wish I had found that a bit earlier though…oh well! :p
