Great Scott! Its Back to the Future day (Oct 21, 2015)

Loved the Back to the Future Movies. Fire up the flux capacitor and jump on your hoverboards (of which there are some in production). What came to be that was predicted in those fun films? the smart Marty McFly did well and the Bully Biff Tannen repairs cars.

Hoping the Cubs prediction comes true, but not looking good…

Dug the red sleeveless puffer jacket out of the back of the coat closet today. Could be part of a great Halloween costume!

Fun! Click through the “Where are they now” pictures of the BTTF cast:

Someone in my household did find an old pair of Calvin Klein undies.

This is a pretty good summary of what predictions they got right:

There are people with far too much time on their hands who edit the Back to the Future wiki. This is a good summary of the various timelines in the trilogy:

Curiosity rover on Mars posted “Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.”

Fun stuff

Back about 10 yrs ago when my son was 12,we watched the 3 BTTF movies one after the other. It was amazing how interconnected they were! Back in the day, we saw them YEARS apart, and didn’t remember all the little connections.

We watched the first movie with our kids this Monday and the second movie tonight. They didn’t seem dated in a corny way. S, who is into special effects, thought those were reasonably good given Star Wars era capabilities. Both kids liked them, even our grumpy tween.

I loved the movies and the music when they came out. (Huey Lewis & the News played at Disneyland grad night the year I graduated, but that was before the BttF movies.) MADad is right that the interconnections are easier to spot when you binge-watch the movies.

Did you see the new Toyota ad for their planned fuel cell car starring Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox?

No, but here is a totally smashing Tacoma truck!!

So much for the Cubs prediction.

^ Well, they got part of it right…The Cubs season ended on Oct 21, 2015 with a sweep in a championship series…

This is awesome! Watch the 10 minute interview of Doc Brown and Marty McFly after they arrive in their DeLorean on Jimmy Kimmel Live on October 21, 2015! (Don’t miss the ending when Doc Brown runs outside).
