Greek Life and Theater?

I got accepted to Weinberg and will probably be attending NU next year as an English major. Not sure yet, but I visited last week and loved it.

Anyway, my question is this: I think I might want to go Greek in college, especially if I go to Northwestern, where that seems to be a big presence. I like the idea of being in a sorority and all that.

However, for the past three years I’ve been heavily involved in theater at my school, usually doing two to three major plays/musicals per year. I’d really like to stay involved in theater in college even though it is not my major – it’s my favorite extracurricular and a big part of my life.

Would it be unusual/impossible/weird to be involved in theater AND be in a sorority? I know that being branded a “theater kid” can sometimes have a certain social stigma.

Nah…not unusual/impossible or weird to be involved in both. One of the reasons why Northwestern is a GREAT school…IMHO.

It’s perfectly normal for kids to be theater kids and in the greek scene. That said, don’t count on being able to stay involved in theater here, as casting is VERY competitive!
