Greek Life at BU?

What’s greek life like at BU? I’m applying to transfer as a junior, would I be able to get involved? I wasn’t at my old school but it seems like a good way to meet people.

Juniors and seniors can not participate in formal Greek rush. Only freshmen and sophomores can. But, there is a community service sorority called Omega Phi Alpha that has a very informal rush process and is filled with a lot of great girls. It’s basically like any other sorority (bigs&littles, parties, mixers, etc.) but there is a lot more involvement in the community service aspect.

can they participate in any sort of informal rush? also, im already a member of alpha phi omega so I guess I wouldn’t have to actually rush?

Omega Phi Alpha and Alpha Phi Omega are actually different. Although both involved in service and founded on very similar principles, OPA is a sorority while APO is a co-ed fraternity.

We have a chapter of APO at BU though too with about 100 brothers (for those who don’t know, we’re co-ed). You most definitely should get in contact with APO if you’re already involved with it and interested in meeting people & service. Since we’re not social greek life, you can join at any point. I don’t think you’d have to go through pledging either since you’re already in it at another school. Check out either https://sites.google.com/site/apozubu/</a> or [Bu Alphaphiomega | Facebook](Apozu).

Oh wow, I completely read that wrong! Omega Phi Alpha sounds cool actually since I already love APO. Are people in it also in social sororities?
