Greek Life Worth it?

Title says it all.

I understand it’s a great experience and will allow one to make a lot of friends and connections, but I know it’s time consuming as well. So is it worth rushing this fall (I’m an incoming freshman)? I’m in Computer Science / Business Administration major if that helps.

Thanks

Same question for an equally demanding schedule-incoming freshman (D) journalism major and Thematic Options participant.

If you’re interested then try it out. You don’t need to commit to anything just yet.

If it turns out that you truly need to be a part of greek life you’ll find a way to manage the time.

I absolutely love it! I never EVER thought I’d go Greek, especially not at a school like USC (to be fair, I never thought I’d go to a school like USC—I was sure I’d be at a small liberal arts school!), but I have met some amazing people and some of my best friends through being Greek—and these are people I wouldn’t have met if I hadn’t gone Greek. USC is such a huge school, it’s easy to stay in the communities you form with people from your major or your dorm, but being Greek has helped me branch out from those communities and meet amazing people.

Going Greek definitely isn’t for everyone, and it certainly has its drawbacks, but personally, I couldn’t be happier that I went Greek. I’ve grown so much through it, met so many awesome people, and had so many great experiences.
