How important is Greek life on campus? Does anyone know about the different sororities?

The sororites are Alpha Phi (called Alpha Phis), Pi Beta Phi (called Pi Phis), Kappa Kappa Gamma (Kappas), Delta Delta Delta (Tri Deltas or Tri Delts), Delta Gamma (DGs), and Alpha Gamma Delta (AGDs). A bit under half of all women are members or affilated with sororites, while around a quarter of men are affilated with a fraternity. It’s certainly on campus, but it’s not as big as it once was. The women have GPAs that hover near or above the average for women, while the men are ususally below average. There are certainly other social options, but if you would like to join a sorority, check them out firsthand.

Thanks for your response. Just curious…do the different sororities have different “personalities” – eg. are different “types” of people attracted to different ones? and do you have to live in a sorority house if you join?

Daughter is in AGD and she explained each has their own “vibe.” Most live in the house junior year.
