Greek Life

I am a black male from a small town who will be transfer to MTSU in the fall. I am very interested in joining a fraternity, but not a predominately African American one. I am use to being one out of two, if not the only black kid hanging out on Friday nights. I’m not your typical everyday black guy. I wear cowboy boots, not only do I like country music, but I want to be a county music singer. I fish, go hunt from time to time, and go mud sometime too. I was just looking for some guidance on which predominately white Greek Organization I should look into, and avoid; because I’m just used to that type of environment. This is a serious inquiry.

Only someone who actually knows MTSU can give you a good answer. Individual chapters within an organization can vary wildly.

I figured that. I don’t have anyone that I personally know that goes to MT that would have a good insite on the deferent frants on campus.

Try www.greekchat.com and try and glean whatever you can from here: http://www.mtsu.edu/fsl/ Otherwise you’ll just have to wait until rush in the fall.

Alright and thanks

http://www.mtsu.edu/fsl/index.php lists the fraternities (IFC = not historically black, NPHC = historically black).

You can look at the photos on the chapter web sites to see if they are racially integrated, if that is a concern for you. The chapter listings also show what they call True Blue accreditation status, explained at http://www.mtsu.edu/fsl/true-blue-accreditation.php .
