GReen Mountain College! -> Pros and Cons

Hi everyone, I’m a new member and I plan to apply Green Mountain College this year. But I need some information from all of you to help me know thoroughly almost aspects of this college. Thanks guys!

Hi there:

From your post it seems like you’d just like a general overview? The biggest thing I need to say is that you MUST visit the college. No matter how far or how much work it takes, you really can get a feel for a college by visiting, even if it’s just walking around the college and meeting some of the current students.

Green Mountain is a private, liberal-arts school that is heavily focused on sustainability and human health. Their majors, for their size, are extensive. What are you looking to go into? They have everything from adventure education, history, or Fine art and music. They even have the sciences such as Biology and Chemistry. It’s a well-rounded school that tends to be able to change quickly and adapt to newer education stylings.

When it comes to being a student there, it is located in a small town, but one that seems to be one of the better ones in Vermont. I encourage you to apply now, sooner rather than later, it’s always better to get your name in faster. I don’t believe there application costs anything, so there’s no reason not to.

If you have some more specific questions maybe I can help more.

From your screen name, it appears that you might be an international applicant. If so, be aware that if you were to ask 100 Americans at random about GMC, it would be unlikely that a single one would have heard of it. There are only 800 students there and it’s quite under the radar in the world of higher education. But its curriculum and sustainability emphasis are certainly timely for this century.
