I also think Meredith will be Chief now. Meredith should have two votes with Derek gone and I am ready to see someone put Katherine Avery in her place. Every time I start to like her a little, she throws her power around and makes me want someone to slap her a little. The Chief is too good for her. I think it’s time to put Grey’s out to pasture, but I guess they could run one more season with Meredith as Chief as we continue to see things come full circle with another cycle of interns, etc.
Meredith Chief sounds good to me. I wish she was still with Derek and be chief to see how they manage being more equal at work.
I think they will end the show with Meredith as Chief giving the Interns the “speech” that she got from (ugh…what’s his name…the original Chief)?
Richard Webber. I feel like I’ve missed out on a moment between Meredith and the Chief regarding Derek. The most touching moments to me on this show have often been those featuring just those two. The moment when they washed her mother’s ashes down the surgical sink on Halloween was my biggest tearjerker moment of the show and I hope for some kind of “Circle of Life” moment between them if she is named Chief.
I’m pretty curious about what was going on with Pierce in that phone call with her mother. Any insights?
I agree…I’m surprised we didn’t have a Richard/Meredith moment. I am also surprised they aren’t playing up a Richard/Pierce relationship. You’d almost forget that he’s her bio dad.
Why not Bailey as chief? She’s been in the background too long. And Karen’s g/f will conveniently go abroad.
I think Bailey would be a great Chief, and I’m sure it would really bother her if Meredith gets it. But since it’s Grey’s Anatomy and Meredith’s “story” so to speak, I see where they would come full circle. I have to say that Bailey’s character is one that has changed quite a bit through the years. I liked her better when she was more “bitey”.
Meredith and Karev is definitely where they are going. As chief…? I would not want to be a patient in a hospital where the chief of surgery has only been an attending for something like 5 years.
As annoying as the Amelia character is, she is right that Meredith should not have pulled the plug on Derek until his sisters and mother could also be by his side.
I was so glad they didn’t leave us with some kind of cliffhanger for the season finale. In fact, that episode could have been the series finale. Loved the interaction with Pierce, Meredith, & Amelia at the end, particularly Meredith talking about the darkness of her life and how to survive with Pierce.
I enjoyed tonight. So even though I thought I would not watch anymore since “the death”’ I might.
