Grid In response for money questions

Does anyone know if I get $5.80 as an answer for the grid-in (student produced response), do I have to grid in
5.80 or will 5.8 be counted as correct answer too? (For money questions, do we need to carry to the second decimal place since money is usually written as $._)

Similarly, how about if the answer is $5, will 5, 5.0, 5.00 all be accepted as correct answers?

Thanks!

Not 100% sure on this, but since the dollar sign is disregarded, it is the same as if the answer was just a decimal.

This leads me to believe that 5, 5.0, and 5.00 (and 10/2?) are all equivalent, as well as 5.8 and 5.80.

^Those are all correct and fine. Even 10/2 would be correct, but a little silly

No one can argue that 5.8 dollars is in some way not the same thing as 5.80 dollars. Are you thinking of some specific problem?

Thanks!!! Glad to hear all answers should be accepted.

No specific questions, was just wondering when reading through the many rules. Like no 0 in front of decimals, etc.

^this is why I think grid-ins should be more like the AIME…
