Hey everyone!
I’m an incoming freshman at Grinnell College, and I’m curious — what made you choose Grinnell?
For me, it was a mix of things:
- Grinnell’s strong grad school placement rates especially for econ majors
- The flexible, well-advised curriculum that helps you land internships or jobs aligned with your interests
- The opportunity to possibly join sports teams since it’s D3
- The incredible student-to-endowment ratio, which means lots of funding for scholarships, study abroad, internships, and academic resources
- The focused, low-distraction environment of Grinnell, Iowa
- And kind of a fun fact — I learned that Warren Buffett used to manage Grinnell’s endowment years ago, and I’ve always admired his values: humility, long-term thinking, value creation over speculation. I like the idea that Grinnell might share some of that ethos.
