Well, superstitious people all over the world are very happy today. Puxtawaney Phil did not see his shadow, which, for superstitious folks, means early spring. For me, it means that the media pays way too much attention to a rodent in some small town in Pennsylvania.

haha, very true!

I read somewhere that this is correct only 46% of the time. That’s less than 50% or randomly guessing.

We recently watched Groundhog Day in English class and then wrote an in-class essay about how it relates/doesn’t relate to Siddhartha.

um didn’t siddhartha live in india & was buddhist?

i do hope it gets warmer, although i’m not superstitious. i hate the cold :(

groundhog day is a real day!?!?
I saw the movie but I never thought that the day was a real occasion!

Of course it is! February 2nd. It’s on like every calendar, haha.

I mean, most people don’t really take it seriously…although footage showed a lot of screaming people with cameras waiting for a groundhog. Funny event.

what does it predict? summer or winter? - in case a conversation about it comes up later lol…

Happy Groundhog day :)

it was yesterday. :D

more important than black history month,.

i really admire your screen name choice^ very creative.

"um didn’t siddhartha live in india & was buddhist? "

He did live in India…but actually Buddhism was the only religion seen in the book that he DIDN’T pusue.

Where I am right now doesn’t seem like winter at all anyway. It just started to get coldish last week and we haven’t yet had a snowfall that covered the ground. So an “early Spring” just feels like I’m getting ripped off by Mother Nature. I want my snow! I want my cold! I want my winter!!!

So, what I’m trying to say is that, IMO, predicting the weather using the shadow of a rodent is bull****. Or at least, something that I refuse to believe.

^No one believes it. who are u trying to convince.

I like the winter more than the summer.

Mostly because the high in an Arizona winter is a cool 60-70 degrees.
(Except two weeks ago, where it was 30-40, that was tough) <----sarcasm, just so everyone knows.

i hate the weather. it fluctuates too often. once you get used to the cold - it goes hot on you. once you get used to the heat - it freezes your ass. So annoying!!
