Group Bible Study?

This girl at our school whos a senior wants to organize a group bible study with me and all the other people at our church who go to college here. She wants it once a month but I keep telling I have no time as Im always working on something. But she doesnt believe me. What should I do?

If you said to me that you can’t find time for one meeting a month (be it Bible Study, community service, or any kind of club/activity), I wouldn’t believe you either. If you are studying and completing your work efficiently and effectively, you should have a few free hours every weekend available to be engaged with your peers and other activities (movies, going to the gym, hanging out with friends, etc.).

Don’t use your studies as an excuse for avoiding things that may be uncomfortable (such as socializing with new people). Don’t underestimate the importance of developing social skills as well as academic skills. Learning communication skills and the natural give and take during social conversations will serve you well when you enter the work force. The skills learned (through social activities) will help in all aspects of life—interviews, working with other people, proper etiquette during dinner parties and office parties, learning how to read social cues, etc.

If you attack your academics as if it were a full time job, you should have time on the weekends for a bit of socializing and outside activities. Start your days early, go to your classes, and work in the library in between classes. Put in an 8 hour day of classes and school work. Go back to the dorm around 5:00pm each day, eat your dinner, and relax for an hour or so. If needed, do a little light reviewing after that and call it a day.

Now, if you simply don’t want to be involved in a Bible Study because it’s not something that interests you, be honest and tell her.

Just tell her you’re a Satanist.

If you aren’t lying to her then you haven’t done anything wrong and shouldn’t worry about what you should “do.”

If you don’t want to study the Bible then tell her so. If it is truly a manner of not having time, then you have nothing to worry about (as previously mentioned).

Thats kind of boring anyway. Theres lots of people who already studied it, so you dont have to read it. It sound like you dont really want to go, but whatever. I bet she’s mad cause she’s trying to convert you and you arent following her orders or she thinks you think work is more important than God, so either way i think she’s like one of those people. Tell her you would rather do something else, like go swimming.

Just tell her you don’t want to be part of it, plain and simple. You don’t have to feel bad about it or anything. If you don’t have time, tell her you don’t have time, but if you just don’t want to that’s okay too.
