Group projects in college

I swear I am having flashbacks. It’s high school all over again… :(

I know right!

In the real world you will never have to do group projects. It’s just absurd.

^What are you talking about…? Basically everything is a group project in the real world. Working in teams is the basis of pretty much every organization…

Are you in college? You need to get your money back, higher education has failed you. Unless your career ambitions end with being a call center worker or fast food cashier, most white collar jobs will require group projects and constant presentations.

At an internship I had at a 3 letter agency, I was involved in an extensive group project through a strategic planning process, one of the team members didn’t carry his weight, and I ended up having to do his work.

Just like in college, in the “real world” you will sometimes have group members that do not pull their own weight, except that the consequences can be much more dire, cost irreversible damage to you professional career at the least, kill you and your team, or the country, at the worst.

Benghazi, 9/11, and other intelligence disasters happened because of poor teamwork.

I had always thought CCers were bright…

Anyone stop to consider that Bigwig was possibly being sarcastic?

I think it’s more along the lines of:

group projects in school =/= group projects in real life

At least in my experience.

emprex, I think it depends on the class and the project. Either way, working together and stuff is a good skill to have.

No, but I know you stopped to look at Bigwig’s picture.
