if someone grew up in HI and they spoke Hawaiian Creole English, would they qualify for special ESL language testing or would they take the SAT/ACT like anyone who grew up with english?

Same question applies for Jamaican and other creole dialects of English.

^ my friend grew up in jamaica and spoke in patwa/patois.

she had to take the SATs.

Hawaiian Creole English, as in, “ho ba, i neva know so i wen go on college confidential”?

If so, I sure hope that doesn’t count as ESL lol

(I live in Hawaii)
