<p>my friend has a GTO to a UC but he still has to fill out an application with essay etc… are the essays read??</p>

<p>my friend got one out of highschool to ucsd… i heard SD doesn’t look at essays because im looking at his essay right now and it looks like crap but its due tommorrow (winter transfer).</p>

<p>there is no essay required for GTOs. I had one for UCLA and they told me to write “Guaranteed Transfer Option” or something like that in the essay part.</p>

<p>you only get it as a senior in highschool… oh my friend said his counselor lost his application and he has to rewrite a new one… ah welll.</p>

<p>ah okay, it’s kinda like a DAP thing right? Dual Admissions something, I remember they had that a few years ago.</p>

<p>At the time the high school class of 04 was filling out apps, they had the DAP…by the end of the year, they dumped DAP (even before it started due to funding) and adopted GTO…so my DAP contract was changed to a GTO one. haha</p>
