Guess What

I found out the most astonishing thing about the admissions process last month. When the admissions officer for Case Western came to my school he told me that at Case only one person reads your application for about 10 minutes and then makes a decision. I always thought that an entire committee goes through applicants one by one. Guess not

i think different schools have different ways of doing things, but who knows. the only way to actually find out is to befriend or become an admissions officer haha

Are you also applying to CWRU?

Yeah I’m applying

Every school does things differently. Case’s application pool is self-selective and they accept like 70% of their applicants.

I heard from an Ivy admissions officer once that an application is read by more than one person, and then your case is presented in front of a committee and they decide whether to accept you or not. Something like that.

“Case’s application pool is self-selective” funny…that’s exactly what they said

^ Well…it’s true to some extent.

Good luck! What is your top choice of schools?

Cmu cmu cmu :D

only ONE?!

i applied to CMU too!
): i’m so nervous

but on the good side i got my first acceptance letter today?!

where did you get in??Pitt??

I applied ED but I made so many stupid mistakes so I probably won’t get in.
