guess who interviewed me!?

If you live in Bay Area and are a sports fan, you know Mark Purdy, columnist for SJ Mercury News. Weird thing was, he interviewed me, but I didn’t know it till the end when I actually caught his last name…It was really cool …I’m kinda worried though, cuz I applied mechanical engineering, but on the interests section of his interview card, they only put political science for me, nothing about engineering…now I’m starting to question whether I put the right major on the NU app.

Hey did you dress casually or formally? Also what all did he ask ? Sorry but i have my interview tomm and i am way tensed.

Btw dont worry abt political science i want to be an engineer but i would rather talk about politics, economy as such. It just shows how aware you are.

That’s so awesome that Mark Purdy interviewed you. What’d you think of him?

Mark Purdy was funny, nice, pretty informative about the whole school…There was no pressure at all for the interview. The main questions he asked were: “Why Northwestern”, “Tell me about your interests”, “What school activities prepared you for you major”, and “tell me about some of your extracurriculars”

I dressed really casually. I wore khakis, and a hawaiian style button up t-shirt. Don’t worry bout dressing up that much. I didnt see seniors in shirt and ties (although i saw some dressed formally for graduate interviews). I even saw a girl in jeans and a sweater, and she came out laughing. Casual probably means whatever the hell you want. And seriously, don’t sweat it, though for NU, Purdy told me, the interview comprises a small part of admissions, compared to being almost a complete nonfactor at other schools.

cool thanks!
