Will you PM me the actual results i really wanna know :)

That converts to a 3.49/4.00 GPA? If so, you’re a reach for Georgia Tech with an FI below 3200.

How do you convert GPA ? … and What is this … with an FI below 3200. ??

I am Sorry for asking such siily questions … but i am new to this stuff

TY

In the US, the vast majority of schools use a 4.00 GPA system to calculate grades. In order to compare you to other students (and the statistics schools provide on their own), your GPA has to be converted from a 100 % system to a 4.00 system.

FI is the freshman index. It’s used by the University System of Georgia to convert your SAT or ACT + GPA into a standard format. The calculation is 500* UW GPA + Math SAT + CR SAT. That gives you a 3125. Generally speaking, to have a good shot at GT, you need to be at least 3200 - and that’s for in-state students. International students actually need to perform better.

I would also like to add He is an International student .
And he is not applying for financial aid ( Even though most of of the colleges have nee-blind admissions)

And 1 more question
How did u convert the percentage to GPA ?

I would also like to add He is an International student .
And he is not applying for financial aid ( Even though most of of the colleges have nee-blind admissions)

And 1 more question
How did u convert the percentage to GPA ?

This must be a trick question. Either he was rejected by all, or accepted by most. Without any hooks, he should have been rejected by all except for Drexel. Question remains: did he have any hooks?

Wait Sharjeel92 will you PM me the answers?

Denied from all.

When you list SAT 2, do you mean he took three SAT II exams and you added them, or that he took the SAT I a second time? That higher score on the SAT would make a big difference.

I converted the GPA like this: (.86+.93+.80+.90) = 3.49 If that’s not right, that would also make a difference. Does the school have an A = XX% conversion chart?

Rejected by all except GA Tech (WL then accept) and Drexel.

You can’t do that dude, this dude is talking about percentages on National Indian Board Exams that have cutoffs similar to the AP’s (aka 33%=Pass, 40%= Third Division, 50%=Second Division, 60%= First Division), it’s extremely difficult to score that high, as far as GPA is concerned that is more like a 4.0 UW.

I would think it went down like this:

UPenn-rejected
Cornell-rejected
Brown-rejected
MIT-rejected
U Michigan-accepted
Drexel-accepted
Duke-rejected
Princeton- rejected
Ga Tech- accepted

yea you are international so its basically impossible to all the top schools.
However, UMichigan I think is a match.

No hooks … no shooks :stuck_out_tongue:
He has taken SAT 1 – once
SAT II - three subjects as stated above - I am sorry i do not know the Individual scores …

def. take SAT again.

More people Guess .
I am sorry but i am not going to PM any 1 the results …

Time to announce the results

UPenn - Rejected
Cornell - Rejected
Brown - Accepted (He is going to brown)
MIT - Rejected
U Michigan - Accepted
Drexel - Accepted
Duke - Accepted
Princeton - Rejected
Ga Tech - Accepted

Congratulations to your friend.
