Does anyone have any theories as to why Gunther (of Ding Dong Song fame…and many other songs) is so huge in Europe? Same with David Hasselhoff - his videos and covers are absolute jokes (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, search for “hooked on a feeling” on YouTube), yet these guys are huge over there. WHY???

No idea. But I absolutely despise Gunther. My friends and I made a “music video” for the Ding Dong song. It was hilarious but we ahve since lost it =(.

Europe has strange tastes.

Poor Gunther…he finally tells Rachel how he feels and gets shot down. I’ve seen it so many times in real life. Nice guys finish last I guess.

Haha you guys are way more up on the culture than I am, I guess. I’m lost.

Last semester I went out on some activity with TBP and they had a Gunther CD and were playing it. It was mostly to make fun of it, but I was surprised someone had actually purchased a CD of his. So strange…

A thread about cheesy European pop music and no mention of Dragostea Din Tea…

Tsk Tsk

Gunther rocks

In Germany, a DDR-copy David Hasselhoff-themed dancing game was released, and became so popular that a sequel was released.

You know what you did? You made me LAUGHED OUT LOUD at work.
