Top US schools care very much about your interests and accomplishments outside of the classroom (school clubs or out of school activities). There is not one answer, every student has some variety in their activities.
@rajas.
Please do not put that you have donated blood in you college application. While this is a wonderful thing to do, this is not at all what US schools are looking for. As I understand it, acceptance into Indian universities is based on test scores alone. Things in the US are completely different. Essays, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation, and more are all taken into account. To get into MIT or Harvey Mudd, you must have all of the above along with great test scores and a stellar GPA (which you seem to have). What’s important with extracurricular activities is passion (you should love the activity or be very interested in it) and commitment/ dedication (time and effort put in).
March rSAT scores aren’t out, so your SAT must be from the old test format. In this case, most schools will look at all three sections, so a score out of 1600 may be misleading. What was your score out of 2400?
