I know its early but s is graduating in May (Elliot School of IA) from GW. Do parents mostly just come for the ceremony on Sunday on the mall? Or are there earlier events to attend for parents? Please advise if anyone has personal experience of this.
It will ultimately be up to your school and program, but it’s been my experience that there will be commencement on the Mall, receiving your diploma the day before from your school (Columbian, Elliot, etc) and probably something specific to your major. For example, all of us physics types had a party the day we walked with the CCAS (Saturday). Your parents will be welcome to attend all of those events.
