It’s really just a difficult time for everybody - nobody could have seen this coming and hopefully we can have compassion for the admissions office just as we hope they would have compassion for us.
I agree with @izrk02 @collegechemistry . They probably have most of their decisions made by now and are just finalizing financial aid packets. Nobody was expecting any of this happening, and it’s really taking a major toll on people’s lives. I’m sure the admissions office is doing their best to get decisions out, but there is just a lot going on right now. Just because you want decisions released now isn’t gonna change when they actually decide to release them. Anyway, someone on the admissions Instagram page did comment about when they would be released and they replied by the end of March, so we will still be sharing within the next two weeks. All we can do is be patient and wait.
*hearing not sharing
Idk if this means anything but on the financial aid page, 4 of my uploads under the eligibility section have been marked ¨requirement satisfied" as of the last week in february. Does anyone else have this?
@zen333 that just means you turned in your forms correctly.
Reddit has a decision date list and it says GWU is going to be released March 15 and they usually only list confirmed dates. I haven’t found anything to support that date release, but I just wanted to throw that out there in case anyone hadn’t seen it on Reddit.
@tryingtovibe I found the same thread on Reddit but I thought it weird since GW has traditionally released decisions on Wednesdays…
I guess we will find out if reddit is right tomorrow?
@tryingtovibe No. It’s still speculation. GW has never released on a Sunday before. While the Reddit thread might be correct, it’s unlikely. Don’t get your hopes up.
Can someone post the link to the Reddit list?
Again, I know you’re all anxiously waiting for them to release. Unless the post on reddit was associated with GW itself, I would take it with a grain of salt. It’s very unlikely that they will release tomorrow. We’ve waited for two months, so I think we can wait two weeks. This is not to say we could hear sooner.
Even if it’s only speculative, could someone who has access to the link post it? It would be interesting to cross-check it with other schools I applied to
@collegechemistry I tried a couple of times and it won’t let me link the website without verification but if you google “reddit a2c Decision/Celebration Megathread II: ED II/RD/Rolling Admissions” and click on the first result it will bring you to a post and at the top in green words it says “HERE IS THE DECISION DATE COMPILATION SHEET”. Click on those words and it will bring you to a google sheet that has all the confirmed decision dates.
Well, Bates came out on the 14th and Amherst comes out the 17th so I don’t think that the spreadsheet is totally correct.
is it confirmed to be for 2020? it could be inaccurate because its meant for another year
I think it is accurate cuz the schools that I applied to have the right release dates
@lerina Just because those schools are accurate doesn’t mean the whole list is. GW never releases the official date to anyone. All the official (trustworthy) lists have “late March”. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just someone guessing to freak kids out. Reddit isn’t exactly known for integrity.
I´ll say it again. I frequent that sub and some rando put the calendar together. Idk where they got that date from but it isn’t mentioned anywhere else online and certainly not by GW.
If it comes out, it comes out. If it doesn’t, it’ll be out in the next week or two. The news is coming soon, just hang in there!!
At the tour, the guide stressed that GW traditionally releases their decisions quite late. That was definitely the case with my daughter who was admitted 3 years ago. It was the last one she received.
