GWU Transfer Thread 2010

I wasn’t sure on that either but the stuff does transfer over. Like for my english 101 & 102 they had a VT next to it but my academic advisor said they’d both count for my UW 20 writing requirement.

Just call or visit your academic advisor asap to figure it out. They can work on a degree worksheet for you, scan it, and email it to you to show you what you’ll have filled in and what you’ll still need to take so you can register for classes ASAP! Classes are just about filled up so you wanna get that done soon if you want a nice schedule.

I’m curious, did everyone who was admitted and planned on attending get registered for their classes ok?

Don’t forget to join the fb group! [GW TRANSFERS FALL 2010 | Facebook](<a href=“Facebook Public Group | Facebook”>Facebook Public Group | Facebook)

I was only able register for one class. but then i spoke with my advisor today and she told me to sign up on july 13th because it would be open for everyone.

That is odd. I was able to register freely as soon as I made a deposit and I’ve been adding/dropping daily since then (weeks ago) until I got the optimal schedule. What major are you?

I’m currently on the waitlist, does anyone know when decisions will be released? My status went back to “Under Review”

international affairs.
that’s soo weird. i was only able to add one class… bummer.
i’ll try again for sure, hopefully i’ll have better luck.

@ Mike L. I’ve monitored the board’s acceptance and there’s no telling. Should you be accepted, 5/95, enrollment in degree courses are challenging, given the time. How did you structure your LOCI, if you agreed?

@swazulu

I’m sorry I misunderstood what you are trying to say. What does 5/95 mean and I take it LOCI (letter of continued interest)?

My apologies, Im a number cruncher. I meant there’s a 5% chance of acceptance and a 95% chance of denial. Regarding the abbreviation LOCI, yes it stands for letter of continued interest. I’m trying to gain insight of the logic that the AdComm is using when extending offers, as im sure you are.

i was surprised i was waitlisted; i was also waitlisted at Georgetown. After finding out I sent my spring grades (6As 1 B, coupled with 6As 1 B+, they only had my 1st semester), wrote the letter, and sent my resume.

the letter basically started by thanking them, went on to talk about my two international volunteer trips, how im going to guatemala again in august to follow up, went on to talk about my grades and academic updates, then closed rephrasing that they are my top choice.

I withdrew from the Georgetown waitlist after comparing their business program to GWU’s. I didn’t document any EC’s in my LOCI, I emphasized what I will contribute to the institution and assured the AC that GWU is my first choice. Today, my application status switched back to under review.

Good Luck!

my status has been back to under review for awhile now hmm hoping for the best :(

Well I finally got off the Waitlisted and was offered admission. It was very ceremonial as it was a call from admissions rather than an email or letter.

Congrats, DBmarine! Are you going?

heck ya I am! Kind of bummed about the huge deposit though.

DB, congratulations brother! You don’t have to worry about the deposit if you’re already enrolled for the Post 9/11 Chapter 33 benefits. If you are, I’ll tell you how you can get around this. What is your degree program?

any idea when those of us on the waitlist will hear? its getting late…

I was called on the 15th of July, for the wait list.

they’ve given me all kinds of dates, im frustrated at this point.

Sent an email, nobody further will be considered…
