GWU Transfer

GWU Transfer Chances?
I am currently a student at CUA (The Catholic University of America) and I am applying to transfer to GWU for the Fall of 2012. I applied to GWU out of high school but i was denied admission for Early Decision. I am currently applying while finishing my second semester of undergraduate studies and I will have 33 credits.

GPA: 3.7
Mid-semester report grades: A, A, A, A-, B+, B+
SAT (High School): 1690
Recommendation: I had a professor from my first semester write a recommendation for me. I had very high scores in his class, got a 100% on the final, and received a final grade of an A.
EC: I am a Cadet in the Hoya Battalion Georgetown ROTC program.

Note: My brother is currently a Senior at GWU and will graduate in the Spring of 2012.

Does my brother graduating make me legacy?
What are my chances of being accepted as a transfer?

I’m a GW Fall 2012 transfer hopeful as well and have pretty much the exact same stats as you (minus your EC, I have different ones). People have told me I’m pretty much likely to get accepted and GW does have a high transfer acceptance rate. I would think that with your brother being a student there it would help, but if he was there last year when you were denied admission - It doesn’t seem like it helped too much then so it probably won’t now.

BTW I loved CUA and I’m applying there along with GW. Out of curiosity, what is making you want to transfer? Other than the fact GW is a well reputable school. CUA is my second choice - but I’d love to go to GW.

CUA does not have a business school, and I am an International Business major.
