This is an opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. Your EC’s are very interesting and impressive, and will make you stand out and could give you much better chances than most.

But…if your handle is correct, futuredoc, you will be lumped in with the science superstars, and your EC’s don’t really relate to your major. So it is hard to say how they will look at it.

^Yes, but you could also say science superstars will be lumped in with a professional opera singer. It seems like Stanford is willing to give up a few of the hardcore, non well-rounded students to take more diverse and interesting students, which the OP probably is.

I don’t think you have to be amazing at science to be admitted to stanford pursuing a pre-med degree (I know a few who definitely were not). And remember, they admit you to the university, not a specific departement or major.

I like your chances.

I’ve really got to change my username.
I’ve wanted to be a doctor since the sixth grade…and now I am thinking about politics.
i LOVE science, but I am about 80% I am NOT going to take the “futurdoc” route:)
