well i just saw the other thread…

REJECTED

GPA 3.94
Requirements were finished end of 06 Fall
5 Breath were finished end of 06 Fall
rest i am working on it, but useless since i got rejected

wow unbelievable.

nandaz, care to list out your ECs?

even assuming she/he had weak extracurriculars/resume, it is crazy that with that gpa she got rejected having the prereqs and most breadth done.

Though it is even more suprising to me that Sweetny got rejected…

Yeah WTH bastards!!! LOL Just kidding there were plenty of extremely qualified applicants and I just didn’t have the luck this time. I got accepted to some good schools but I may still try again next year. hmmm

Many 4.0’s get rejeceted from Haas as well. It’s not that surprising really.

^exactly everyone knows it is a long shot

for Haas, if you have weak ECs/Work Experience, you WILL get rejected even if you have the highest GPA in the World. It does not work the same way as other department where you’d be pretty much in as long as you have a decent GPA and have completed all pre-reqs. That’s what makes Haas so damn difficult. I mean, afterall, it’s the third best undergraduate business school in the nation.

Sweetny,
So are you going to stay at a jc another year to re-apply? You must really have your heart set on HAAS.
since you had the coursework done what are you going to do to increase your chances?—are you just going to work on your resume?

Yeah dhl3 I know what you are saying, but it seems likely she had some extracurriculars…i guess not strong enough though.

Well I dropped out of Calc 2 this semester which I am sure did not look good. You are right I really don’t have any other classes I can take other than that one. I may stay another year to get into UCLA actually. I did not get in there because of Calc 2. I have a great job and house in LA that I really don’t want to leave so if I do wait another year it would mostly be for LA. I would just be working and saving money. I went through a lot of crap this semester in my personal life so I think that took my head out of the game at a very critical time. Although if I get into Columbia I would be happy to move back to NY. :)

Yeah makes sense to just save up a bit especially if you have a good living situation in LA already…

damn though that sucks about Calc 2…

sweetny, why did you drop calc 2?

How about Stern or Cornell Sweetny?

Still waiting on Stern but my hs gpa is low so I am not betting to high on that. I didn’t apply to Cornell. I dropped out of Calc 2 because I just did not have enough time. Due to something personal I had to transfer houses and schools and all kinds of stuff. It really sucked. On top of physically not having time I was emotionally drained. If I could have stayed in it I would have but I had some bigger life issues happening that needed my more immediate attention. Life just happens sometimes and there is always next year or other schools.
